Conception
Cotton Blossom was conceptualized through a collaboration with American Made Brand fabrics®. I was inspired by their philosophy of Farm to Fabric and designed a quilt that celebrated the way they work with domestic cotton. Given access to the spectrum of AMB solids, it was a treat to be able to quilt the rainbow, further adding that element of nature into the design. To make the cotton blossoms, I modified traditional orange peel and drunkard's path blocks to create a new block.

Creation

Cotton Blossom was designed by hand and on Adobe Illustrator. I 3D printed templates for cutting. I used American Made Brand® Cotton Solids by Clothworks for all fabric elements, Warm & Natural batting, and Aurifil thread to piece and quilt.

Life Outside the Studio

Cotton Blossom is currently exhibiting at Spring Quilt Market. Patterns are available for sale in my shop.
