Conception

 

City Limits was created for my brother and his partner to celebrate their love of Dallas, the city where they've made their home and become a force in the art world. I used a scrappy applique technique to represent the pieces of themselves and their lives that they've merged into a shared life together.

Creation

City Limits was designed on Adobe Illustrator. I used a mix of fabrics by Robert Kaufman including Essex Yarn Dyed Linen for the background, batted with Warm & Natural,  and quilted with Aurifil thread.

Life Outside the Studio

City Limits lives in Dallas, TX. I will soon be offering customized versions of this quilt in my shop.
